University of Louisville Gets $25 Million
Louisville philanthropist Owsley Brown Frazier is giving $25 million to the University of Louisville.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- University officials announced Monday, they had received a cash donation from Frazier, a great-grandson of Brown-Forman Corp. co-founder George Garvin Brown.

U of L officials say the donation will be used to improve academic, research, and athletic programs.

Frazier holds a law degree from the university, and is past president of the school's Board of Trustees. He has received numerous community awards for his philanthropy.

So far, Louisville has raised $582 million toward a $1 billion goal for its capital campaign.
