ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- Officials with both schools predict the agreement, signed Thursday, will mean more than 300 ECTC students will transfer to Western Kentucky's main campus in Bowling Green this year.

The initiative has been enacted between WKU and five other Kentucky Community and Technical College System schools.

ECTC President Thelma White told The News-Enterprise, the agreement will eliminate barriers for students in getting a degree, and expand options for services.

WKU President Gary Ransdell said the joint venture helps the area, because there is a direct correlation between the number of bachelor's degree holders in an area, and the economic development potential of that area.
