SEATTLE (AP) -- Apple Inc. and AT&T Inc. are expected to tell federal regulators Friday why they rejected Google Inc.'s phone service for the iPhone.

The Federal Communications Commission is looking into the matter as part of a bigger push to examine exclusive relationships between wireless carriers like AT&T and phone makers.

Google's own response to the FCC says iPhone owners can use a Web browser version of its Google Voice product, but the features are more limited than the rejected program.

The Google response was redacted in parts that talked about Apple's explanation for the rejection.
