Edmonson County senior receiver Dustin Barbour only had two catches Friday night against Butler County - but made them count.
His two receptions accounted for both of the Wildcats' second half touchdowns in a three-point victory over the Bears in a Class 3A District 2 matchup.
Butler County's Jason Byrd ran for a 141 yards and his two touchdowns helped the Bears rally from a 10-0 deficit to take a 14-10 lead in the third quarter. But after a 78 yard kick return from Zach Vincent, Barbour caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Brent Smith to help the Wildcats reclaim the lead at 17-14.
Barbour followed that up with a 7-yard touchdown scamper at the 3:38 mark of the third quarter to put Edmonson County up 10.
The Bears scored with 1:40 remaining and had one last opportunity from midfield to win but the final snap of the game sailed over Jesse Stivers' head.
The Wildcats (2-4, 1-2 Class 3A District 2) visit Adair County next week, while Butler County (3-3, 2-2) is off before an October 12th trip to Muhlenberg North.
