Russellville jumped out to a 21-0 nothing lead in the first half, but the final outcome would not be determined until the final minute of play.

Glasgow rallied from a 14-point deficit at halftime to cut the Panther lead to four in the fourth quarter. Russellville tried to run out the clock, but a Jamarcus Gordon fumble late gave the Scotties one more chance to complete the comeback. Deep in its own territory, though, Glasgow was unable to score, ensuring victory for the Panthers.

Russellville's offensive attack was led by Dustin Sydnor, who had 18 carries for 252 yards and two touchdowns, including a 96-yard score in the first quarter. Sydnor now has 749 yards rushing and nine touchdowns through five games this season.

Quarterback Mikie Benton mirrored Sydnor's solid play with 168 rushing yards, 99 passing and three scores. By the end of the night, the Panthers amassed 566 yards of total offense.

The Scotties, however, had their share of offensive success as well. Lamar Howard led Glasgow with 184 yards rushing on 13 carries, with touchdown runs of 80 and 24 yards. Howard also caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Lindsey in the third quarter to cut Russellville's lead to 28-21. Senior Corey Witcher accounted for Glasgow's other two scores, finishing with 34 yards on eight carries.

The Panthers (5-1) return to district play next week when they host Hart County while the Scotties (4-2) travel to Monroe County on October 12 after a bye week.
