Franklin-Simpson High School celebrated its homecoming Friday night - but most of the evening saw Bowling Green calling the Shadetree Stadium endzones home in a 69-10 rout of the Wildcats.
Bowling Green scored on its first drive and dominated from there, opening a 27-3 advantage in the first quarter and leading 41-10 at halftime before coasting to victory.
Senior quarterback Trent Steelman paced the Purples, finishing 14-of-20 passing for 203 yards and carrying seven times for 82 yards while scoring three touchdowns. Tevin Barksdale led the Bowling Green rushing attack with 106 yards and two scores on only seven carries while Ryan Wallace's six catches for 95 yards was tops among Purple receivers.
Junior quarterback Courtney Dalcourt led the Wildcats with 89 rushing yards and Franklin-Simpson's lone touchdown of the evening.
Bowling Green (5-1) hosts Grayson County next week, while the Wildcats (3-3) visit Muhlenberg South.
