Offense had been Warren East's trademark through seven games, ranking ninth in Class 4A in rushing yards and second in passing.

But Friday against Owensboro Catholic, that offense was stymied and the Raiders (7-1) ultimately couldn't recover, falling 28-14.

East built a 14-0 lead into the second quarter but the Aces (5-2) scored just before halftime, then posted 22 points after the intermission to take the victory.

East, which came into the contest averaging more than 199 yards a game on the ground and more than 253 through the air, was limited to 175 total yards for the evening (89 passing, 86 rushing). The total included just 2 yards on the ground in the second half.

The Raider defense also came into the game ranking among the state's best and lived up to its billing, limiting the Aces to only 205 total yards. But Owensboro Catholic used a controlled passing game to climb back into (and ultimately win) the contest, with quarterback Evan Walker finishing 20-of-35 passing for 119 yards and three touchdowns.

The Raiders have next week off before visiting Bowling Green October 26th, while Owensboro Catholic begins a three-game homestand against Fort Campbell.
