Russellville bounced back from its loss to Danville in a big a way, shutting out Todd County Central 42-0 Friday night with a dominating effort on both sides of the ball.
Panthers running back Jamarcus Gordon rushed for 48 yards and two scores and threw for another while the Russellville defense held the Rebels to just 36 total yards through the first three quarters.
The unit also created turnovers. With the Panthers up 7-0, Damian Elam intercepted Aaron Power and returned it inside the Todd County Central 5-yard line. Gordon scored on the next play for a 14-0 lead.
Quarterback Mikie Benton built on that lead by throwing a 44-yard touchdown pass that helped bury the Rebels in a 35-0 halftime hole.
Russellville (7-2) will close the regular season next week at home against Logan County, while Todd County Central (1-8) will host Webster County.
