After missing last week's game against Todd County Central, Russellville running back Dustin Sydnor returned to action with a vengeance against Logan County. The senior rushed for four touchdowns, all in the first half, vaulting the Panthers to a 55-14 rout of the Cougars.
Sydnor made his presence known early, scoring on a 62-yard touchdown run on Russellville's first offensive play. He followed that effort with touchdown runs of 16, 40 and 9 yards later in the half. Sydnor finished the night with 151 yards on only seven carries. Fellow senior Jamarcus Gordon also had success running the football, scoring twice in the first half. He ended the game with 42 yards on six carries.
The Cougars were led by running back Jonathon Barbee. The sophomore accounted for both Logan County scores, rushing for 90 yards on 13 carries.
Russellville (8-2) hosts Hart County next week in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs while Logan County (3-7) travels to Franklin-Simpson in the Class 4A playoffs.
