Hornets Roll Over Indians 66-7

The Hornets scored early and often Friday night, defeating Adair County 66-7. Metcalfe County was led by senior quarterback Will Warf, who threw for four touchdowns on 7-of-10 passing for 188 yards.

Junior Daniel DeLeon led the Hornets in rushing with 128 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. Jeffrey White, Aaron Miller and David Coffey combined for five catches, 166 yards and four touchdowns. Metcalfe County amassed 355 yards of total offense in the victory.

The Hornets also did the job on defense as well, recording three interceptions, returning two for touchdowns.

Metcalfe County has outscored its last two opponets by a combined score of 118-7 and leads Class 2A in fewest points allowed in the regular season.

The Hornets (8-2) travel to Glasgow next week in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs while the Indians finish the season 0-10.
