Edmonson County's Thomas Johnson caught one pass on the night, but the reception ensured that the Wildcats would enter the Class 3A, district 2 playoffs with plenty of momentum.
Late in the fourth quarter Edmonson County possessed a 21-16 lead and faced a fourth and 10 at the Patriots 10 yard line.
On that play, Brent Smith completed a touchdown pass to Johnson that gave the Wildcats a 27-16 lead and ultimately their fourth win in their last five games.
Smith passed for 263 yards while throwing three touchdowns and he also rushed for the go ahead score earlier in the fourth.
Cotey Batteiger helped lead a rushing attack that posted 166 yards.
Flint Lich paced Allen County-Scottsville with a 105 rushing yards and a touchdown that temporarly put the Patriots ahead 16-13 in the third quarter.
Edmonson County (5-5) will play at Butler County next Friday and Allen County-Scottsville ends it's season at 1-9.
