Warren East beat Franklin-Simpson easily in the regular season, but not quite as easily as it took care of the Wildcats in Friday's Class 4A District 2 playoffs.
Jon Yates returned the game's first punt for a 66-yard touchdown and Antonious Owens returned a fumble 60 yards for another score midway through the first quarter to give Warren East a 13-0 lead, which swelled to 27-0 by halftime and ended with a 47-14 Raider victory.
East had beaten the Wildcats 34-7 in September.
Shenard Holton was the offensive star for the Raiders, carrying 13 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns as the Warren East outgained Franklin-Simpson 411-310.
Junior quarterback Courtney Dalcourt paced the Wildcats with 212 total yards, but finished just 11-of-31 passing and committed six turnovers.
East (10-2) now hosts Fairdale in next week's Class 4A state quarterfinals, while Franklin-Simpson ends the season 6-6.
