Bowling Green, Ky. — As the regular-season schedule wraps up and postseason play approaches, the Western Kentucky University basketball program will play host to a pair of key games in its bid to claim another Sun Belt Conference championship.
The Hilltoppers — who are 21-5 overall, 13-1 in the league — will face South Alabama Thursday at 7 p.m. (CST) at E.A. Diddle Arena, then will take on Louisiana-Monroe at 7 p.m. Saturday on Senior Night.
USA enters play this week 21-5 overall and 13-2 in the Sun Belt, a half-game behind the Toppers in the East Division standings. Both teams are in the top 50 of the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) following Sunday’s contests. The Jaguars earned a 65-61 win on Jan. 5 in Mobile in the first meeting between the two teams.
Fans are requested to wear white to Thursday’s USA game in support of a student initiative to “white out” Diddle Arena.
When WKU faces the Warhawks, the preseason favorite to win the SBC’s West Division, it will honor five seniors prior to the start of the contest — Tyrone Brazelton, Adam Howard, Courtney Lee, Ty Rogers and Boris Siakam — in potentially their final appearance at Diddle Arena. That game is part of a doubleheader with the Lady Toppers, who will recognize seniors Crystal Kelly, Charlotte Marshall and Nadege Muna as well prior to their 3 p.m. tip against ULM.
