Bowling Green, Ky. — The Western Kentucky University volleyball team will hold its annual postseason banquet on Friday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. (CST) in the Hall of Champions at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The banquet will include a buffet dinner, followed by a program to recognize the 2007 team and recap the Lady Toppers' season. The cost of the banquet, which is open to the general public, is $18 per person.
The Lady Toppers made history in 2007, becoming the first team in the history of the Sun Belt Conference to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. WKU posted a 27-9 overall record, and finished 14-3 in the Sun Belt Conference. Three Lady Toppers were named to the all-Sun Belt Conference team, with Megan Argabright and Julia Noe both named to the first team, while Jenna Gideon was a second-team selection. Argabright earned All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the third straight season.
Contact assistant coach Ashly Miller for tickets, questions concerning the banquet, or sponsorship at (270) 745-7090 or by email (Ashly.Miller@wku.edu). The WKU volleyball team’s goal is to get enough sponsors to cover the cost of the players’ meals and the awards.
