Bowling Green, Ky. — With Western Kentucky University basketball ensured a berth in this year’s NCAA Tournament field following Tuesday’s victory over Middle Tennessee in the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, the program will learn its fate at a public celebration Sunday at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The gathering, which is free to the public, will begin at 4:30 p.m. (CDT), a half-hour before the announcement of the tournament brackets on CBS. The selection show will be viewed on the facility’s Pepsi Vision scoreboards.
Big Red, the cheerleaders and dance teams, and WKU pep band will all be part of the event, and concessions will be available. And, Hal Schmitt will host a special edition of the Hilltopper Hotline on 100.7 WKLX in Bowling Green.
Once the NCAA Tournament field is announced, the WKU Athletic Ticket Office will be on hand to begin taking orders for the Hilltoppers’ first-round match-up.
