Western Kentucky University basketball signee Bryan Narcisse has been released from his letter-of-intent by the school, the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle reported on its web site Thursday night.
According to the report, Narcisse's desire to be closer to home and WKU's recent coaching change were contributing factors to his decision. The report said Narcisse was given the news by new Hilltopper coach Ken McDonald on Thursday afternoon.
"I called the coach and asked, and they said they would probably still be recruiting me and I said, 'That's fine.' I'm really thankful for that," Narcisse told the newspaper.
Narcisse would reportedly like to commit to a new school by May and considered Charlotte, Furman, Providence and Presbyterian before signing with WKU.
He averaged 13.6 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as a senior at North Augusta (S.C.) High School.
