Bowling Green, Ky. — Former Western Kentucky University men’s golfer Brent Long made his professional golf debut at the Buffalo Run Casino Classic in Miami, Okla., last week. Long finished the tournament tied for 26th with nine other participants.
Long started the round tied for 26th and fired a three-under-par to complete his first professional tournament — posting a 16-under-par 272. For the event, Long recorded one eagle, 20 birdies and only six bogeys. After first-round action, he was tied for 12th firing a seven-under-par with five birdies and one eagle. During the second day of action he recorded five birdies on the back-nine, but three bogeys kept the former WKU standout from ranking higher on the leaderboard going into the third round.
Long recorded $1,709 for his tournament earnings.
