Kentucky Mavericks head coach Vincent Askew was fired on Saturday for undisclosed reasons, according to Mavericks owner Jason Smith.

Smith told WBKO the search for a new coach will begin on Monday, and the team hopes to find a replacement within the next two to three weeks. Otis Key will serve as interim head coach until a replacement is found for Askew.

Askew was with the team as late as Saturday afternoon, scouting for talent at the Dirt Bowl at Bowling Green Parks and Recreation.
