Warren East senior running back/safety Shenard Holton's wasting no time making a college decision, committing Friday to play at the University of Louisville.
Holton had an outstanding junior season, recording 116 tackles to go with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. On offense, he rushed 115 times for 712 yards and 13 touchdowns while catching 23 passes for 556 yards and six more scores. As a team, the Raiders reached Kentucky's class 4A state semifinals - the deepest playoff run in school history.
Holton chose the Cardinals over WKU, Ball State, Central Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Eastern Kentucky and Illinois State. The Courier-Journal reported Holton was also being recruited by Kentucky, Boise State, Purdue and Auburn.
