Bowling Green, Ky. — Following a day off on Sunday, the Western Kentucky University football team resumed its 2008 fall camp with a pair of practices on Monday at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. The squad’s lone practice on Tuesday will be from 2:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. following the team’s annual media day activities beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall of Champions in E.A. Diddle Arena.
“The most encouraging thing is that I see guys getting better,” Head Coach David Elson said. “Because of some injuries, we have some young guys getting a lot of repetitions and they are getting better as a result. I also really like our overall attitude and the players’ willingness to learn. We have really good chemistry on this team, and our guys enjoy being around each other.”
The Hilltoppers open the season on August 30 against Indiana as one of the 120 schools that comprise the Football Bowl Subdivision (Division I-A). WKU is entering its 90th season on the Hill and will be eligible to win the Sun Belt Conference crown and earn a bowl selection in 2009.
