For the third straight season in the Franklin-Simpson-Russellville rivalry, the road team left the field with the win.
The Wildcats used a balanced attack to score 47 points against the Panthers and improve to 1-0 with a 32-point victory. Senior quarterback Courtney Dalcourt led the way for Franklin-Simpson, finishing with 203 yards rushing and 200 yards passing and four touchdowns.
Running back Patrick Flippin also had an impressive 2008 debut. The junior rushed for 160 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass from Dalcourt.
The Panthers' defense could do little to stop the Wildcats, and were unable to match their offensive output. Russellville rushed 45 times for 149 yards.
The Wildcats (1-0) host Daviess County while the Panthers (0-1) face Barren County.
