Monroe County head coach John Petett was all smiles on the sideline Friday night, as his Falcons scored 28 first-quarter points, cruising to a 49-8 victory over Adair County.

The Falcons' ground attack struck early and often, amassing 280 yards and six touchdowns. Sheldon Hamilton rushed six times for 103 yards and two touchdowns, Tanner Kendall ran for 94 yards and a touchdown on eight carries, and Caleb Maxey carried the ball six times for 15 yards and a score.

Quarterback Justin Harlan only attempted four passes, but completed three of them for 112 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons (2-0) host Larue County next week while the Indians (0-1) host Butler County.
