Mother nature and defense told the story at Gator Stadium Friday night, as Greenwood and Allen County-Scottsville scored just one touchdown a piece. A failed two-point conversion by the Patriots made the difference, though, as ACS suffered its first loss of the season, 7-6.

The Patriots jumped out on top 6-0 on a Cory Cooper touchdown. The Gators responded prior to halftime with a touchdown of their own and took the lead for good before entering the lockerroom.

Allen County-Scottsville threatened to reclaim the lead early in the fourth quarter, as it faced first and goal inside the five-yard line. The Patriots were unable to convert, however, failing to score on a fake field goal attempt on fourth down.

Greenwood (1-1) travels to Meade County next friday while Allen County-Scottsville (1-1) hosts Franklin-Simpson.
