Franklin-Simpson snapped a four-game losing streak to Warren East, defeating the Raiders 33-16. The Wildcats improve to 3-2 on the season, 2-1 in Class AAAA District 2.

Senior quarterback Courtney Dalcourt continued his solid play in 2008, rushing 15 times for 118 yards and a touchdown, and throwing for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick Flippin complemented Dalcourt on the ground with 102 rushing yards on 22 carries. Jim Murphree was the Wildcats' leading receiver, catching three passes for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Warren East (2-3, 0-2) suffered its second straight loss in district play and now must play on the road in the first round of the postseason, should the Raiders advance that far.

The Raiders were held scoreless until the fourth quarter when Shenard Holton broke through with a seven-yard touchdown run. The Raiders were outgained on offense 350 to 308.

The Wildcats travel to Bowling Green next week while the Raiders visit Logan County.
