Brittany York Receives Top Honor

A perfect ending to a outstanding high school softball career, Greenwood High's Brittany York was named by the Kentucky Softball Coaches' Association as the state's top senior player.

For the past 6 years Brittany York has worn the Gator Green and Gold compiling one record after another. Her career highlights include Western Kentucky Rookie of the year in 2002, All Region First Team honors from 2003-2006. District Tournament MVP 2004-2005, and All-State team recognition 2004-2006. Brittany holds the school record in most doubles, most homeruns and RBI's.

Brittany will wear the LadyGator Jersey a couple more times as she plays in the East/West All Star series June 16-18 at the University of Kentucky. After the All Star series Brittany will turn her attention to her new team and school as she makes her college debute as a Louisville Lady Cardinal.

Although Brittany's accomplishments are established, Brittany said" I look forward to being pushed by my new teammates and coaches. I can't wait to take my game to the next level"
