There's bad news for University of Louisville football.

Less than a week after knocking off then-No. 14 South Florida, Cardinals wide receiver Scott Long has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

In a release, the university said the injury occured in practice on Tuesday.

"I'm very disappointed for Scott," said U of L head football coach Steve Kragthorpe in the same release. "He's worked so hard this year to get into shape. It (the injury) occurred during a non-contact drill in practice. We have to move on from this situation and get ready to play a good Syracuse football team."

Long missed the first four games of the season with a foot injury, but returned to produce 201 yards receiving on 11 catches. That included five catches for a career-high 134 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Bulls.
