Wildcats' Hartline Apolgizes for Comments Made After Demotion

UK quarterback Mike Hartline said today he apologized to his offensive teammates for comments made after Tuesday's practice.

After losing his starting quarterback job to Randall Cobb, Hartlnie said, "It stinks," and he said his demotion was the result of others not being able to perform.

On Wednesday, Hartline said, "It didn't come out the way I intended. I got with the offense today and told them if I disrespected anybody, I apologize. I think they know what kind of guy I am and they know my character and it was good to see that."

Rich Brooks said he was surprised by Hartline's comments and when he talked with his sophomore quarterback Wednesday he didn't realize what he had said.

Hartline's teammates were supportive after practice.
