LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky guard Jodie Meeks has been named SEC Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats to a victory in the Las Vegas Invitational.
Meeks was named the tournament's MVP after averaging 28.0 points in wins over Kansas State and West Virginia. Meeks poured in 37 points in the win over the Wildcats and added 19 in the championship game against the Mountaineers.
It's the first time Meeks has won the award, though he was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times during the 2006-07 season.
