LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Rick Pitino says his team owes fans an apology after the Cardinals were blown out by Western Kentucky on Sunday. Pitino blamed Louisville's 68-54 loss on poor practice habits and his team's inability to match Western Kentucky's intensity.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- A judge has rejected a proposed sale of the minority interest in reigning Horse of the Year Curlin. Circuit Judge Roger Crittenden made his ruling Monday during a hearing intended to sort out a complicated ownership dispute over the richest North American racehorse in history.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky coach Rich Brooks says quarterback/wide receiver Randall Cobb will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday. Cobb will have arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage he injured in his left knee during Saturday's game at Tennessee.
