LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky has announced that cornerback Trevard Lindley will remain in college to play his senior season with the Wildcats.
Rich Brooks says he recommended that Lindley take a good look at going to the NFL. Now the coach says he's surprised and excited that one of his best defenders will be back with the team.
Lindley says some of his reasons for playing another year of college football include for him individually to become a better player and for the team to compete for the Southeastern Conference championship and win another bowl game.
The All-Conference defensive back led the team with four interceptions and led the SEC in total passes defended in the 2008-2009 season.
