Pioneers Start Hot, Don't Let Up In Win Over MTSU

DENVER -- Nate Rohnert recorded 17 points and five rebounds as Denver downed Middle Tennessee 63-51 on Thursday night.

Brian Stafford scored 14 points for the Pioneers (10-12, 5-6 Sun Belt Conference), and Kyle Lewis added 10.

Denver led 35-23 at halftime and made 57 percent of its field goals for the game.

Middle Tennessee (14-9, 8-4 Sun Belt) was led by Desmond Yates with 12 points and five rebounds. He was followed by Nigel Johnson with 10 points.

Kevin Kanaskie recorded nine points and three assists for the Blue Raiders, while teammate Demetrius Green tallied nine points, two assists and three rebounds.

Montarrio Haddock had six rebounds, five assists and five points for Middle Tennessee, which made just 42 percent of its field goals for the game.
