Bowling Green, Ky. — Senior pitcher, Ryan Rogge, was honored by the Sun Belt Conference by being named the conference's Pitcher of the Week after a fantastic showing against conference foe, Florida International, this past weekend.
Rogge, picked up three crucial wins in WKU's sweep over FIU finishing the weekend with a 0.55 ERA after giving up only two runs, one earned run, and 11 hits in 16.1 innings of play. In game one against FIU, Rogge shut out the Golden Panthers going seven innings without allowing a run and giving up only four hits. Rogge also came in during game two with the score tied and picked up her second win of the weekend following a performance where she allowed only one run and three hits. Finally, in game three, she pitched another complete game giving up only one run and four hits. Rogge also struck out eight batters during the weekend and her opponents finished with only a .178 batting average.
This season, Rogge is now 7-1 with an overall ERA of 1.48. The senior has given up only 39 hits and 12 runs in over 48 innings of play while also recording 30 strikeouts. Rogge and the rest of the Lady Toppers head to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Buzz Classic this weekend. WKU will take on Bowling Green at noon CST on Friday.
