Former Bowling Green High School tight end Ryan Wallace considered playing for the University of Kentucky when he was still in high school.

A year into his college career, Wallace has made the decision to play for the Wildcats.

Wallace will transfer to Kentucky from Colorado, Bowling Green head coach Kevin Wallace - Ryan's father - told WBKO on Wednesday. Kevin Wallace said his son chose the Wildcats over WKU.

Ryan Wallace redshirted as a freshman during the 2008 season with the Buffaloes and while he can practice, will have to sit out the 2009 season with the Wildcats. He'll have three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2010 season.

Ryan Wallace was a high school star with the Purples, ultimately picking Colorado over the likes of Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Wake Forest, Stanford, Rutgers and Cincinnati. Rivals.com ranked him the 10th-best senior in Kentucky in the class of 2008 after he caught 48 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns.

In his final two years with the Purples, he caught 70 passes for 994 yards and ten scores.

Kevin Wallace said his son will attend the entirety of the Wildcats' preseason camp and will begin taking classes at Kentucky in the fall.
