On Friday, October 23, 2009 the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta participated in a philanthropic event that would leave the average man breathless.

Members of the fraternity ran the game ball from Western Kentucky University all the way to Middle Tennessee State University, a distance of more than 90 miles, but there's a lot of feet from both schools hitting the ground for a good cause.

"We're actually going to be taking 1 to 2 mile shifts. Each brother will be running 1 to 2 miles at a time, just knocking it out like that. We've got 32 Phi Gamma Delta brothers here, and we also have 12 Pi Kappa Phi guys from MTSU that will be running with us, so we're going to be knocking it out like that," says Jake Ryle, Phi Gamma Delta Philanthropy Chairman.

WKU football's head coach David Elson was on hand to kick off the event.

Proceeds from the Football Run will benefit The South Central Kentucky American Red Cross.
