TROY, Ala. - The final round of the Troy Women's Invitational was washed out on Tuesday, leaving Western Kentucky University (+40) in third place, equaling the best finish of the fall season. ULM (+31) captured the tournament title by two strokes over Troy (+33). A trio of Lady Toppers recorded top 10 finishes in senior Emily Wolff and freshmen Kelsey Burrell and Kristen Wilkinson.

The 54-hole event was contested at the 6,005-yard, par 72 Troy Country Club in Troy, Ala. and hosted by Troy University. It was the third appearance in the last four years for the Lady Toppers in the event as they were 14th out of 18 teams in 2007-08 while placing seventh out of 15 competitors in 2006-07.

Haley Lawrence of Troy earned medalist honors with a total of one-over-par 145, one shot in front of ULM's Angela Drane.

Monday's 36 holes resulted in two of the team's best four rounds of the fall season. The opening round of 310 is tied for fourth best while the round two total of 306 was one shy of equaling WKU's lowest in 2009, set in round one of the Great Smokies Intercollegiate on September 19.

For Burrell and Wilkinson, the tied for seventh finishes mark career-bests while Wolff earned her team-leading second top 10 in five tournaments thus far.

With the fall portion of their 2009-10 schedule complete, WKU will resume competition in the spring.
