LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky players admit they may have gotten a little too full of themselves following wins over Auburn and Louisiana-Monroe.

The Wildcats' momentum came to a stunning halt during Saturday's 31-24 loss to Mississippi State, a defeat in which the Wildcats allowed the Bulldogs to run up and down the field at Commonwealth Stadium with ease.

Coach Rich Brooks said his team's overconfidence caused the Wildcats to lose focus and miss the importance he stressed of winning against the Bulldogs in order to be in prime position for a strong postseason. Further, he said that Saturday's game against Eastern Kentucky (5-3) is even more important in order to stop a possible snowballing effect that could unhinge the entire season.

Kentucky (4-4) needs to win at least 2 of its final four games to become bowl eligible for a fourth straight year.
