Lexington, KY. – Host Communications Inc. has been named the multi-media rights holder for Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green effective immediately. HOST is also proud to announce that Brad Edmondson will serve as the General Manager for the company’s newest sports marketing property.

Under the 10-year agreement, HOST will sell, produce, and distribute radio broadcasts for WKU’s sports teams. HOST will also have the right to sell, produce, and distribute coaches’ shows, television broadcast of games, game-day programs, hospitality opportunities, corporate sponsorship, and internet.

WKU President Dr. Gary Ransdell added, "One of the immediate payoffs in our move to I-A in football is the new ability to engage a contract for overall marketing rights for all of our athletic programs – an opportunity not typically afforded a I-AA institution. We are quite pleased with our new partnership with Host Communications. We believe they are a premier athletic marketing firm and a great fit for WKU. We are proud to have them represent us in the marketplace."

“Given our new partnership with sports marketing giant Host Communications, WKU could not be better positioned to maximize our athletic marketing potential and expand our product offerings and service to Hilltopper sports enthusiasts around the globe,” said WKU Director of Athletics Dr. Wood Selig. “HOST will aid WKU considerably in maximizing our transition to I-A while introducing new and innovative programming and sponsorship opportunities. One is known by the company they keep. With HOST and their ‘who’s-who’ intercollegiate client list, we are now among the nation's elite with regard to college sports marketing.”

“It’s exciting for Host Communications to have a second Kentucky school as a partner as we are based in the Bluegrass and have represented the University of Kentucky for nearly three decades”, said HOST CEO and President Tom Stultz. “Brad Edmondson is a proven performer in the sports marketing ranks, making him a tremendous addition to HOST and Hilltopper Sports Marketing. We expect Brad to begin what will become a wonderful partnership between WKU and HOST.”

Edmondson added, “We are excited for the opportunity to work with Wood Selig, the Athletic Department, and Western Kentucky University, and look forward to being a fully integrated part of the WKU Athletic Department as Hilltopper Sports Marketing. This is a very exciting time at WKU as we make the move to Division I-A, and we are happy that we have been chosen to be a part of the team.”

Prior to joining the HOST team, Edmondson served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing at James Madison. During his tenure at JMU, Edmondson led the efforts to close more than $1.7 million in corporate sales reflecting a 69 percent annual increase since 2003. JMU also reached the $1 million mark for annual cash earnings by athletic marketing for the first time in the school’s athletic history in 2005-06.

Edmondson also worked in Auburn’s athletic department as well as for Walker Racing in Indiana. He has a Master of Arts degree in physical education from Ball State. Edmondson is a member of NACMA, the Collegiate Athletic Marketing Association.
