Greenwood's Robert Hall breezed through much of the field in last year's state tennis tournament, until he faced South Oldham's Eric Quigley. The sophomore defeated Hall in straight sets en route to the state championship.
This year, the Greenwood junior hoped to exact some revenge for last year's semifinal defeat. But Quigley would have none of it.
For the second straight year, Eric Quigley defeated Hall in straight sets 6-0, 7-6 in the state semifinal. And for the third straight year, Quigley would go on to win the state title.
Prior to Saturday's loss, Hall had yet to lose a set. Quigley did not drop a set for the entire tournament.
