If this week's 5/3 Bank Kentucky Women's Open is any indicator, Whitney Wade's professional golf career could be as special as her amateur career was.
The former Glasgow Lady Scottie and Georgia Lady Bulldog fired a four-under-par 68 Thursday to run away from the field at the event, winning by five shots. She collected $2,600 in prize money for her first professional win.
Wade had previously starred at Glasgow High School, where she led the Lady Scotties to four state team championships, won two individual state championships and was named Kentucky Miss Golf three times. She went on to a successful collegiate career in Athens.
