Warren Central Pulls Away From East Carter 55-36
The Dragons will face Ballard in the quarterfinals on Friday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Jordan Shanklin scored 16 points and Warren Central used a big third quarter run to beat East Carter 55-36 in the opening game of the Boys Sweet 16 state tournament on Wednesday at Rupp Arena.
The Dragons (23-8) forced 15 turnovers and held the Raiders to just 31 percent shooting from the floor. Warren Central will play either Ballard or Shelby County in the quarterfinals on Friday.
East Carter (23-6), making just its second tournament appearance, received just eight points from star Colt Barnhill, a McDonald's All-American Game candidate.
East Carter led 21-20 at the half, but the Dragons used a 22-2 burst in the third quarter to take control.
