Former Western Kentucky University head football coach David Elson has a new job.

He began duties as a defensive quality control coach at Indiana University on Monday.

Elson has a long relationship with Hoosiers head coach Bill Lynch and IU defensive coordinator Dennis Springer was once on Elson's staff at WKU.

Elson was fired Nov. 9th as Hilltopper head coach in the midst of a 20-game losing streak. In seven years at the helm of the WKU program Elson had a 39-44 record, which included five winning seasons and trips to the 2003 and 2004 NCAA Division 1-AA Playoffs.
