Bowling Green, Ky. — The time of Western Kentucky University’s opening game of the football season was shifted Monday in order to accommodate a live television broadcast.

Lincoln Financial Sports will air the Sept. 1 contest on a regional basis, with kickoff now set for 11:30 a.m. (CDT). The game can be seen locally in Bowling Green on WBKO-ABC (local cable channel nine).

It will mark the second time in as many years that the Hilltoppers will begin the season with a LFS broadcast. WKU kicked off the 2006 campaign at Georgia.

The Toppers will also make a regional television appearance when ESPN Regional airs their game on Thursday, Sept. 20 at Middle Tennessee.
