Metcalfe County used a 90 yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter to hold off a fiesty Barren County squad in the T.J. Samson Bowl.
After falling behind 20-2 in the third quarter, Barren County scored twice to pull within in 3 at 20-17 with 11:21 in the 4th quarter.
The Trojans used a 24 yard Coty Lynn touchdown run and converted on the two point conversion attempt to make it 20-10.
Then quarterback Blake Crabtree snuck in from a yard out to make it a three point game.
Metcalfe's ensuing and lengthly drive culminated in a Will Warf touchdown pass to David Coffey and that put the game away.
Metcalfe led 13 -2 at the half thanks in large part ot Will Warf's interception of Coty Lynn and the 90 yard touchdown return that ensued. The interception was one of four Barren County turnovers.
Metcalfe County (1-0) will host Somerset next Friday and Barren County (0-1) will play at Franklin-Simpson.
