It could be considered a sign of great defense when a quarterback's all-purpose yardage exceeds the opposing team's total offensive production - but not in Cory Henon's case.
The Greenwood quarterback racked up 361 all-purpose yards while Meade County tallied just 303 yards of offense in a 28-21 Greenwood victory.
Henon's 11-yard touchdown pass to Brent Davis broke a 14-14 tie in the third quarter and the Gators never looked back.
All told, Henon rushed for 167 yards, passed for 131 more and accounted for 63 return yards. He had a hand in three touchdowns total.
Davis caught a touchdown pass and scored another on defense when he returned a fumble 30 yards for a score in the fourth quarter.
Greenwood (2-1, 1-0 Class 6A District 2) will host Bowling Green next week while the Green Wave (0-3, 0-1) hosts Central Hardin.
