Russellville established itself as a (the?) power in Class 3A, District 2 Friday night, opening a 32-point lead at Butler County and ultimately beating the Bears 32-8.
The win puts the Panthers just a win away from a regular season district championship and the accompanying top seed in the district playoffs.
Marcus Gordon led the way for Russellville, gaining 161 yards rushing and scoring a touchdown on 17 carries. Dustin Sydnor added 15 carries for 102 yards and a score while Damian Elam ran for a touchdown and caught another.
J.R. Ford led the Bears with 28 rushing yards and Taylor Overstreet caught Butler County's lone touchdown.
Russellville (4-1, 3-0 Class 3A District 2) hosts Glasgow next week, while Butler County (3-2, 2-1) visits Edmonson County.
