Sparta, Ky. – Kentucky Speedway announced that the most famous words in racing will be delivered by Advance Auto Parts President George Sherman who will serve as grand marshal for the June Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts race. Canadian Tire Associate Vice President, Automotive Merchandising Paula Sayers will start the race when he waves the green flag and serves as the honorary starter.
Sherman, a former officer in the United States Air Force, joined the Advance Auto Parts team in April of 2013 and is responsible for store operations, merchandising, marketing, supply chain and information technology functions. Prior to joining Advance, Sherman served as the Senior Vice President, Best Buy Services, Best Buy. Prior to that, he served in various positions with Home Depot where he led their operations teams as well as their installation business as Senior Vice President and President of their Home Services Division. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in executive positions with Target in escalating management roles including Regional Vice President in both Dallas and Chicago for Target and Senior Vice President, Stores and Executive Vice President, Operations for their Mervyn’s division.
Sayers, a car enthusiast, has been with Canadian Tire for 16-years where she dedicates her time to the automotive business. Her passion for performance vehicles extends outside of work where she enjoys driving her personal vehicle and keeping routine maintenance on it by using Quaker State Ultimate Durability 0W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil.
