BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU’s Sept. 6 game at Illinois will kick off at 11 a.m. (CT) in Champaign, Ill. and be televised nationally on the Big Ten Network, the BTN announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers will appear on the Big Ten Network for the second time in program history, with their last and lone previous appearance coming on Sept. 18, 2010 when they hosted Indiana to open up the home portion of their 2010 schedule.
With its game at Illinois scheduled for the Big Ten Network, WKU now has seven of its 12 regular-season games slated for national television in 2014, which also includes its season opener versus Bowling Green on Aug. 29 (CBS SN), Sept. 27 at Navy (CBS SN), Nov. 1 at Louisiana Tech (Fox TBA), Nov. 15 versus Army (CBS SN), Nov. 22 versus UTSA (Fox TBA) and Nov. 28 at Marshall (Fox Sports 1).
Dating back to the 2011 season, the Hilltoppers have appeared on television in 28 consecutive games, and games on the 2014 schedule may still be picked up for broadcast in the future with those games and networks released as soon as they are finalized. Per television standards, networks and times for the Hilltopper games airing on the Fox networks will be announced 12 days prior to kick-off.
