Bowling Green City Junior Golf Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- For five decades the city of Bowling Green has held a junior golf championship tournament and Wednesday afternoon the 50th champion was crowned.

Warren East's Christian Tooley and Bowling Green's Jackson Berryman needed a playoff to finally decide a winner but when the final ball filled the cup it was Berryman reaching down to claim victory.

"Me and Christian walked down the fairway and neither one of us had been in a playoff before, ever. So it was our first time we didn't really know what to expect and I just got lucky, pulled through,' Berryman said.

"Losing in front of your friends isn't fun but at the same time this is a really well ran and fun tournament and Bowling Green Parks and Rec really put on a good tournament, it was a lot of fun," Tooley said.
