BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU junior Brandon Harris has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after averaging 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two Hilltopper games last week, the conference office announced Monday. It is Harris' first weekly award of his career and third by a Hilltopper this season, joining Jamal Crook and T.J. Price earlier this season.
Harris averaged 19.0 points per game in two conference contests, and he also added 8.5 rebounds per game and hit 7-of-15 three-point tries on the weekend (.467) in 36.0 minutes per game.
The Oklahoma City, Okla., native helped the Hilltoppers to a win over Louisiana-Lafayette Thursday night with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and he followed it up with 22 points and eight rebounds against UALR on Saturday in a game in which he hit six three-pointers.
For the season, Harris is averaging 8.8 points per game and is leading WKU in rebounding at 6.6 rebounds per contest. He has averaged 31.3 minutes per game in 20 games, including 19 starts.
