Bowling Green, KY – The Bowling Green Hot Rods, in conjunction with the Tampa Bay Rays, announce that Ryan Brett has been named the Rays organization’s May Player of the Month. Brett, who was also named a 2012 Midwest League Midseason All-Star last week, hit .343 in the month with two home runs, two doubles, two triples, and nine runs batted in.
Entering Saturday’s action, Brett, the Rays’ third round selection in the 2010 draft out of Highline High School in Seattle, was leading the organization, including Majors and Minors, with 68 hits. This is the second monthly recognition in as many months for the Hot Rods. Felipe Rivero was named the Rays April Pitcher of the Month in the season’s opening month.
